1 flight, 1514 N-sec burned

Mini MWP had EXCELLENT weather this year, but I almost didn't make it; United (ugh) dropped dirt cheap fares two days before the launch, so I bought tickets and we sucked it up on board. They lost Tim's box of Aeropacks (LOL) but our rockets came through ok. We arrived on Friday night in Chicago on a warm, muggy evening that eventually turned to a brief rainstorm that we dodged in Roscoe's. (Lorde's "Green Light" is an EXCELLENT piano bar suggestion, btw.) Saturday and Sunday were both clear days with a nice light breeze, and Tim/Jackie put on yet another excellent barbecue for everyone on Saturday night. Great launch!

Flight 1: Punisher 3, AT K695

The K185W was a nice lazy flight, so I figured I'd amp it up on the next round. I was debating a K550W but decided to go for the show with the punchier red load in this case. Steve couldn't read my writing on the flight card the first time around, so I had to break the pun to him ("Anita Mai Tai", we were doing Nicki themed rockets this weekend), but after that awkwardness things went really smoothly; the rocket pounded into the sky on a thick red flame and rapidly disappeared from sight. I regained a visual just before main deployment and picked it up about a half mile south in the tiny corn plants.
I like to design, build, and fly rockets. PostFlight started as a project to help me keep track of them. Now I've opened it up so you can follow along, too.
I fly with:

Hey! What are you doing down here? The rocket stuff (yea, it's © 2024 David Reese) is up there!
