After staring at this kit for a few months, I thought it was pretty cool looking, so I built one. The combination of long fins and 75mm mount in a 4" tube would've been tough to fillet internally, so I added extra glue during the initial bonding process. I painted it in an Air Force scheme (blue + grey). It's been a reliable performer so far!

Event: ROCStock 44

Date: 11/12/2016

Motor: AT K1275

I hadn't renewed my BLM vendor permit in time for this launch, so I showed up to fly--"just for fun," as Hulan would put it. I'd never flown a K1275 before, and I figured it would be a good way to dust off the old Interceptor. Since it was a K motor, I could fly it from the middle row; Neal was on LCO and he thought it was really cool :) Wimmer flew just before me and landed back on the pad, but I must've caught some upper level winds, because after an arrow-straight boost and freefall under drogue, the main opened about 3/4 of a mile away downrange. Recovery was easy with the Com-Spec tracker and Recon chute. Nice flight!

I like to design, build, and fly rockets. PostFlight started as a project to help me keep track of them. Now I've opened it up so you can follow along, too.
I fly with:

Hey! What are you doing down here? The rocket stuff (yea, it's © 2024 David Reese) is up there!
